Counseling can be an incredible journey of self‑awareness and personal growth. As a counselor, Melissa challenges her clients while utilizing their strengths to propel them toward personal growth and identified treatment goals. The benefits of counseling are in direct relation to the effort and time each individual invests toward their own personal goals and drive toward emotional well‑being.

Get to know Melissa

Melissa Wilson

I welcome all clients to my practice who are 18 years and older. My practice includes family, couples, and individual work. I've been in practice since 1997 and am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. My office was created to be a welcoming and safe space, and I'm comfortable working with clients in office and virtually.

My Approach to Therapy

The foundation of my practice is strength‑based. Having been in practice since 1997, I've found that while clients can usually identify their problem areas, they often have a harder time naming their strengths. Identifying those strengths is crucial — it's a tool clients can use to work toward their treatment goals.

I draw on techniques from ACT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Internal Family Systems. These are my primary approaches, but I'm not limited to them — I'm glad to explore other therapy techniques with clients upon request.

What You Can Expect From Me

First sessions are about making sure you — or you and your partner — feel comfortable working with me. We'll identify treatment goals together and review practice policies, and I'll leave room for any questions you have about me or my practice.
